My beta blog for all things interior design! |
Bright yellow is all the rage in fashion right now, and I’m obsessed with finding just the right shade of citrus yellow pumps. So naturally I turned to design for some color inspiration! To my delight, I found this gorgeous hotel in St. Barts via TheDesignerPad that is the exact shade of yellow I want and has some killer interiors! Enjoy!

My mom just made me the coolest pillows from some leftover fabric from a DIY project, and now I’m on a mission to find more fabric to make more fab pillows! Here are some of my obsessions of the moment:
Peter Dunham Textiles “Kashmir Paisley”
Joel Dewberry “Modern Meadow” Collection, herringbone in “Pond”
Caitlin Wilson Textiles “Cobalt Hong Kong Fabric”
Or, I can just throw my budget out completely and splurge on thes beauties!
Decisions, decisions! I think I need them all!!

That Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a stylish movie is probably the worst kept secret in the world. Just wander the streets on Halloween, and you’re likely to bump into several Holly Golightlys along the way. But beyond the cigarette holder and pearl necklace are some pretty amazing elements that are equally deserving of iconic status. — Amy M.

Holly’s girl about town attitude and New York’s early sixties energy make a pair worthy of intense imitation. Whether her bare but quirky apartment or her outlandish but classic accessories, Holly pulled it off with panache. There is no recreating Audrey Hepburn’s insane charm, but let’s all try. Worst case scenario? We’ll just put “Moon River” on repeat and enjoy the ride.

I’ve totally been procrastinating on re-doing our live/dine space, and because I change my mind like I change my underwear, I thought a design board was in order! Terrified my vision wouldn’t look as good as it did in my head, I scoured the internet for a program that could give me the most realistic imaging without having to take a night class to learn how to use it!
After perusing through many FREE (cause girl’s on a budget!), online mood board programs, olioboard was by far the best! It is super user-friendly, has up-to-the-date selections of furniture, and is just an overall easy way to envision any room!
Here is the design board I created! Can’t wait to get shopping! It’s the best motivation to get any project off the ground!
Up next…THE DREADED CATCH-ALL OFFICE!
Earlier this month, design guru Nate Berkus revealed ways in which to incorporate Fall color trends into your home… bronze, navy-black, and asparagus green. No question that Nate is on the pulse of design, but I’m totally obsessing over another pallate - black & white!! Call me a design rebel, but I think I’m on to something here…check it out:

Stylelite scored a sneak peak at the new (highly anticipated by this fashionista) lookbook of the Target Missoni collaboration! In the words of RZ - I DIE! To my design delight, I can afford to endulge on a Missoni dress AND some swanky decor - LOVE!
I am so going to turn these into pillows for my new couch!
I don’t know what I love more the zig zag pattern or the classic Missoni eclectic colors!
Switch it up in the kitchen with mixed patterns and bold color!

Not for the home, but so adorable I just had to post!

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the IKEA 2012 catalog had some great new stylish selections! Motivated by their affordable approach, I challenged myself to find some equally bargain-friendly finds. (I’m a sucker for a deal! Admitted guilty pleasure: TLC’s Extreme Couponing). Long gone are the days where you have to break the bank for chic style! Here are some of my economically swanky finds:
Urban Outfitters Ziggy Chair $279
West Elm’s aluminum wood side table $129
IKEA Karlstad Sofa $599
I’m obsessed with The Design Public Outlet! Design Public items up to 80% off? YES PLEASE! Score 5 yards of Amee Wilder Wallpaper (above) for $84! Or some Dwell Studio shams (below) for $59.
Pssst: you can find a great alternative to that haute headboard here!
Loving these mid-century inspired plastic side chairs by Azzo! I found them on HSN.com 2 for $189 plus FREE shipping!
If you love the look of wallpaper, but don’t have the time, check out Inhabit’s Wall Flats. Patterned, light weight wall tiles that are durable, paint-able and as biodegradable as paper! $86 for 1 box of 10 tiles that will cover 22.5 sq ft.

Feeling a little uninspired lately, I dove deep online for some fresh design. Sadly, a lot of the “eclectic chic” was starting to look more like hobo geek! Just when I was about to give up, I stumbled across this blog: i suwannee. The innovative mind behind this textile heaven is Jamie Meares, owner of Furbish Studio - a swanky North Carolina one-stop-shop for decorating services and eclectic offerings ranging from colorful re-purposed vintage furniture to great hostess gifts. A few clicks later and I was reinvigorated by Jamie’s keen ability to mix high, low, old, new, traditional, and modern with ease!
I have no words on just how cool this vignette is!
The pillows are perfection!
A simple bar but every piece makes a statement.
Bright, bold and full of life!
The mix of patterns gives this room such a haute hipster vibe!
I have glass door shower, but I NEED that shower curtain!
1 part whimsical, 2 parts vintage, with a splash of traditional = the perfect eclectic cocktail.
The ultimate effortlessly eclectic inspiration!
